About the event
Selichot means “pardons” and is the name that our tradition gives to a set of poems, prayers and songs that help us prepare to return ourselves to G!d as well as return and straighten out any part of ourselves that has gotten “off course” this past year.
Additionally, we will have a writing exercise where we will list our positive midot, (attributes) that we wish to hold on to in 5786 and another list of our negative midot which we will literally will “wash away” using water soluble makers, acetate paper and a basin of water. Lastly, we will sing many of the High Holiday melodies we have not sung since last year.
Here are some suggested food items we needed for our festive community meal:
Green salad, fruit or fruit salad, vegetarian or pareve main courses, beverages, desserts, paper plates, flatware, and medium sized drinking cups.
